Bruce Coughlan at Westacres

On July 7th, over 70 members of the MR Music Society and friends of Bruce Coughlan enjoyed an evening of music and song – the initial evening of his new “Confessions of a Songsmith” tour. Bruce is a resident of Maple Ridge and is best known for his time with Tiller's Folly, the well-known folk music group. He provided us with an evening of original music ranging from blues and jazz to gospel and Celtics intermingled with stories of his life in music.

Registered members of the Maple Ridge Music Society are invited to the Annual General Meeting of the society om Tuesday June 20, 2023 at 7pm at Westacres, 23575-124th Avenue, Maple Ridge to:  

1)   Elect a new board, President, Secretary, Treasure and members at large
2)   Present the Treasurer's report
3)   Present the Artistic director’s (Josine’s) report
4)   Have a presentation and discussion of plans for the society

At the end there will be a short musical presentation by the Alouette Baroque Players and light refreshments.

For 40 years Josine Eikelenboom held intimate classical chamber concerts in the large music room at her house on her farm called Westacres. On the occasion of the celebration of the fortieth anniversary at Westacres on March 11th 2023 Mrs. Eikelenboom recalled the past of the Maple Ridge Music Society.  Click here to read what she remembered.
