The Oregon Renaissance Band Trio


The internationally renowned early music specialists, multi-instrumentalists and instrument-makers, Laura Kuhlman and Gayle and Phil Neuman, bring alive music from 14th, 15th and 17th centuries.

This concert will explore musical influences between France, Italy and England from the late Middle Ages through the Renaissance, on a large variety of instruments like veille, recorders, viola da gamba, viola de bracchia, krummhorn, percussion etc. Some of the instruments are built by the Neumans.

The Maple Ridge Music Society, in cooperation with the Bergthorson Academy of Musical Arts and the Wild Salmon Defenders Alliance are proud to present Voices for the Salish Sea featuring Canadian icons Tiller's Folly, Holly Arntzen, Kevin Wright and “The Wild!”

Opening remarks by Eddie Gardner (T’ít’elem Spath), Stó:lõ Elder from the Skwah First Nation in Chilliwack. Eddie is founder of the Wild Salmon Defenders Alliance. A portion of the ticket price will be donated to the Alliance in support of their broad ranging work. That work includes restoring and preserving the integrity of our Salish Sea and the West Coast marine ecology. The Alliance also supports the underlying rights and title of Indigenous people as proper stewards of their lands, waters and resources.
